these words slither dark
from the spaces between the keys
here they come,
from between the A and the S
and then the L and the semicolon
leaving a trail as they climb laboriously
onto the screen, forming words
dredging memories
thoughts love hate sorrow
one letter at a time
revelling in their freedom
making friends, enemies
fights, gossip,
falling in love, making more
baby words,
populating this screen
and in the end
disappearing into nothingness:
this very word now
this very poem

Khuto --
superb.
The initial conceit -- that the words emerge not from the keys, but from the spaces between the keys -- has special evocative power (as an surprising idea).
The descriptions & conceits that follow carry this forward with a fine sense of comic pathos.
Are you aware of the poetry of Charles Simic? You might like some of it.

cheers, d.i.
