rain

your laughter,
spreads sunshine.
monsoons are very late this year.

your silence,
frustrates me.
like grey clouds without rain.

tears in the rain.
in the greater scheme of things,
pointless.

the wind that helps a bud blossom,
dries my tears.
lesson in hope.

your laughter
turns rain into wine.
soaked now. what was i saying?

Wanted to post this on your GB/ PM but can't access it...

Loved the pointlessness brought out in the 'tears in the rain' on teh blog. Sort of an indicator of the superfluity of things we do all the time.

On a lighter level - like people looking at you and asking you whether you've cut your hair when it is evident to a blind bandicoot that you have - except that your lines evoke a sort of tired but helpless frustration, but picturesque nevertheless, while there is an asininity about the latter...

...Not that I'm entirely sure about the human race being particularly intelligent, but somehow, we do tend to set human emotions at a pedestal higher than human intellect.

Which is why I liked those three lines so much - they capture the pointlessness of tears in the rain but more than that they capture our awareness of it.

Am I reading too much into it? Maybe. But I always hold that once something has left your pen/ keyboard and is out there, it can mean whatever I want it mean when I read it, regardless of whether or not you, as a writer impute that meaning to it.

So thank you, for telling me (indirectly) that we do what we do stupid as it is, recognise it for its stupidity, yet bash on regardless. Everyone needs a reminder of that perspective every once in a while.

:-)
